In Brief
By combining fiction with reality, I create a peculiar yet multidimensional world where I seek to reveal our hidden strength and wisdom.
I’m a Helsinki-based visual artist, photographer, and designer exploring the balance between photography, storytelling, and emotions. Photo-based art allows me to explore incidents and moods for which I can’t find words — so I aim for visual implementation. I do fine art photography, conceptual photography, and portraits with a quirky twist. I’m interested in people, life, and stories — but I like to bring them into a unique world. My inspiration often comes from real experiences and observations that I rearrange with my perspective. I’m looking for small miracles in obscure places and ordinary moments. I usually stage my images because I’m interested in the space between real and unreal. I want to explore that mysterious zone where reality and fiction collide — there I find wonderful surprises. In my work, I study the transformation of an individual, nature, and time. I search for the balance between fragility and strength. I often wonder which is more critical: how things really are or how we experience and feel them and what impact they have on us.

Many of my projects are in the work-in-progress mode because I work on several projects simultaneously and take advantage of the season cycle. That’s why it takes me several years to finish one project. The images above are a random selection from personal work.
