I'm a Helsinki-based visual artist, photographer, and designer exploring the balance between photography, imagination, storytelling, and emotions. Photo-based art allows me to explore incidents and moods I can't find words for — so I aim for visual implementation. I do fine art photography, conceptual photography, and portraits with a quirky twist. I also collaborate with those seeking a concept-driven attitude and signature style in commissioned work. I'm interested in people, life, and stories — but I like to bring them into a unique world. My inspiration often comes from real experiences and observations that I rearrange with my perspective. I'm looking for small miracles in obscure places and ordinary moments. I usually stage my images because I'm interested in the space between real and unreal. Our life is like a miraculous dream, and I need to find more layers and depth, but I sometimes find only a thin line between fact and fantasy. I want to explore that mysterious zone where reality and fiction collide because I find wonderful surprises and learn something real. In my work, I study the transformation of an individual, nature, and time. In part, I explore the relationship between the person and the environment in the context of the visual narrative. We often take our surroundings for granted, while at the same time, we should maintain nature with significant changes in our behavior. If the young generation grows in understanding the value of nature, it can help them find future solutions. In a broader view, I search for the balance between fragility and strength. For me, creativity is partly accepting and sharing fragility, despite fear. I often wonder which is more critical: how things are or how we experience and feel them and their impact on us.

Many of my projects are in the work-in-progress mode because I work on diverse themes simultaneously and take advantage of the season cycle. Client projects are faster, but in my personal work, I need several years to finish one large project. The images above are a selection from older and current personal projects.
