Thanks for sharing your precious time with me. I’m Heidi, a versatile visual designer based in Helsinki, Finland. I am open-minded and I have a great curiosity for new things and mediums. I have this positive ‘can do’ attitude that keeps me feel young and makes me go further.
I have a classical graphic design background, so my approach to design is that it’s problem solving – that design is thinking made visible. I am also strongly a concept thinker, because I think it’s the key in all design. I think good design has a deep relation to the content, strategy and goals – that’s what makes it relevant. Visual communication and design is moving fast forward, so I try to keep myself updated. I’ve collaborated with many professionals from various fields, from culture to commercial, from technology projects to motion and broadcast and from branding to print and book design. I have worked as a consultant in small and big teams provided by the client. I have also been in visual lead roles, so I can take the pressure. I have worked with developers and I’m familiar with projects that use agile methods and prototyping. I love to build holistic concepts, no matter what platform. I’m interested in technology and I adapt to many kinds of projects – I have a curious mind. It’s obvious that designers have to constantly evolve and almost every project brings something new to the table. I am a person easy to work with and I like to collaborate with people who have a passion in what they do.
I love to illustrate. It’s a field I’d love to dive deeper. There are so many possibilities in illustration, in addition to editorial and marketing field. It can also be involved in branding and in tech projects. It has lots of possibilities when used in spatial design or on live stage especially in motion. I think there is a lot to be explored in illustration in relation to motion design that doesn’t have to involve always classical storytelling. Many of my work under “illustration” label were delivered in very tight schedule. I feel I have more to offer when there is a bit more time. If an illustration have to be published today or tomorrow, it surely has its limitations. A really good illustration usually takes some time, but it’s totally worth it.
Dream, fly, aim for the things that make you grow and be happy. If I can help you with that, even better.
